An asterisk (*) in Speaking indicates that the audio quality of the candidate's responses that were recorded was not of a sufficient quality that we were able to assess the responses. Cambridge Assessment English is therefore unable to provide a result for the candidate.
If the examiner cannot hear the candidate response it will be classed as 'unmarkable' and not contribute to the final score. If multiple responses cannot be heard then the candidate will be awarded an asterisk (*).
Candidate response files will not be released in any circumstances.
